Once again it comes to that time of year again. Absolute Communication is shutting down for the school year, and will be back even stronger for the Fall 2012 semester. For the Spring semester, our team of extremely talented future professionals tackled some of the newer challenges we were presented, and further excelled in finishing up the previously started ones. Some of our team members will be back for another semester with Absolute, while others are getting ready to graduate and get into the professional world.

To the rest of you watchful followers of our posts, we thank you, as well as our Facebook fans. It was a packed first half of the year, and we look forward to finishing the rest of this year with some great ideas, as long as the world does not end in 2012, but that will not be because of us.

We would also like to remind those interested in joining our team, that applications are going to be taken until all of the spots are filled. Next semester, our adviser, Kevin Bischoff, will be overseeing two classes of Absolute Communication. So, if you are looking to get some real world experience, or to add to your portfolio, we would love it if you would apply for the class. U of U Recruitment Office Presentation

This week the Absolute Communication team gave their last presentation of this semester, and we had the honor to present to Mateo from the University of Utah Recruitment Office. In this presentation, the team covered the different aspects of a previous campaign the class did, The Texas Recruitment Campaign. We discussed the findings we made during our research into the impact the campaign had in bringing more Texas students to the U of U, as well as more ideas in making the campaign a success if we do another run in the upcoming semester. A lot of data was covered, a lot of numbers were crunched, but we made our presentation impactful and above all else informative.

ThomasARTS – Zions Bank Cheapster presentation

Our Cheapster dedicated team presented to the ThomasARTS panel regarding our ideas for the upcoming Zions Bank sponsored project. The team presented their ideas on how to change the webisodes and keep them fresh and entertaining to the target audience of the Cheapster show. This was phase two of our presentation regarding the contest, and in this half we focused on how the upcoming challenges would play out, and what our idea was for the main event. In addition to the contests, we further focused on ideas for connecting the Zions Bank name strongly, getting leads and increasing the number of contestant applications for future contests.

It was a great pleasure having ThomasARTS come to our class and work with us as we added new ideas to the mix, as well as the great feedback we got from the companies representatives. We are definitely looking forward to having other projects and other chances at working with one of our favorite ad agencies.

Mayor Ralph Becker turns out to support the Utah Transparency Project

There was a great turnout last night for the Utah Transparency Project! Multiple television reporters showed up to witness the unveiling of the Hinckley Institute of Politics ‘Think Tank’ project. Those in attendance were Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Council Chairman Soren Simonsen. Below is the link to Fox 13′s news coverage and a gallery of photos from the event. Upcoming Utah Transparency Project media alert

Our team is finishing up everything we need to have for the April 11 event for the Utah Transparency Project, and we are excited! Today we went through the final checklist of things we need to finish up to make sure that the Utah Transparency event will be successful, and we are giving it our all. If you have not had the chance to check it out, please visit the UtahTransparencyProject.org website, and look into the ideas this group of Honors college students is proposing to making government more transparent. The April 11 event will be held at the Hinckley Caucus Room OSH 255 at 2:00 p.m. More information will follow as we get closer to the event.

The students working on this project gave their recommendations and ideas to increase participation in the frugality oriented show which is coming back this fall. A media kickoff for the Utah Transparency Project will take place on April 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hinckley Institute of Politics Caucus Room at the University of Utah. Afterwards, the Utah Transparency Project team will host a Hinckley Forum on government transparency. All students are invited to attend this important media event.

Absolute is ready for ThomasARTS presentation

For our second presentation this semester, the Absolute Communication team working on the ThomasARTS Cheapster project is ready to present to the esteemed Salt Lake agency. The different parts have been split up, the ideas are written up, and the rehearsing has been done. We are bringing some new ideas to the table to address some of the previous bumps the campaign has run into, and with the approval of the visiting ThomasARTS account managers, we hope to grow the competition even further.

Utah Brain Injury Council

Utah Brain Injury Council team has really hit the floor running! They’ve been busy contacting high schools for fundraising and possible awareness among students. The team has been creating social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter. Go check out the Facebook page: Utah Brain Injury Council. They’ve also been brainstorming community events and businesses to distribute stickers. Any ideas?
